 Adoption of Court Fee For Services of  Language Interpreters

            Now come the Judges of the Hamilton County Municipal Court and recognize that there has been a great increase in the number of defendants using official Language Interpreters and that the cost of said Language Interpreters has been paid by the Court and furthermore, the Court recognizes that there are many defendants capable of paying the cost of the services of Language Interpreters.
   
           Therefore, it is the order of the Hamilton County Municipal Court that an interpretation Fee of $36.00 shall be assessed as Court Costs in those cases wherein a defendant is not declared indigent.  However, if all costs are remitted, the Language Interpreter's fee shall also be remitted.  Furthermore, for good cause shown, the Language Interpreter's fee may be waived or remitted by the Court even if other costs are assessed.  The Language Interpreter's Fee shall not be assessed on multiple charges or on multiple appearances on the same charge(s).  This order is effective on or after September 1, 2001.
