To evaluate, monitor and make appropriate recommendations to the public and to local and county elected officials and public safety officials, on laws, policies and practices that promote public safety, reduce recidivism and improve the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of the Hamilton County criminal justice system. The Commission should employ a comprehensive approach to developing and maintaining a criminal justice system that improves public safety, increases offender accountability, and reduces recidivism. Recommendations should be based on data analysis and evidence-based practices.
