Purpose:The
Council shall provide a means by which the views of the
consumers of elderly services, the general public,
individuals involved in the field of aging, and community
leaders synthesize recommendations to the Council on Aging
Board of Trustees and staff to form a partnership of older
citizens, community agencies, state and local governments,
the community at large, and the Council on Aging in the
implementation of the Elderly Services Program.
Establishing Authority:The Board
of County Commissioners and the Council on Aging Board of
Trustees, Image 1312-1315, approved on August 5, 1992
Composition:Members must reside or
provide ESP services in Hamilton County. Members are
appointed by the Board of County Commissioners, unless
otherwise noted, and shall include:
One (1) member representing the Board of County
Commissioners;
A minimum of two (2), maximum of four (4) consumers and/or
caregivers of ESP services;
A minimum of three (3), maximum of six (6) members
representing ESP service provider agencies;
A minimum of five (5), maximum of eleven (11) members
representing business, industry and/or the community;
At least one (1) ex-officio (non-voting) member of the
Council on Aging Board of Trustees, appointed by the COA
Board President.
Terms:Members
shall be appointed for a term of three (3) years. No
individual shall serve more than two (2) consecutive terms.
Terms shall be staggered so that new appointees are
designated in each calendar year. Any member with three (3)
unexcused absences annually from scheduled meetings will be
asked to resign from the Council. There shall be a minimum
of four (4) meetings a year and others, as needed,
determined by the Chair in consultation with the Executive
Director.
