Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities Board

• Purpose: Provides funding for mental retardation and developmental disability programs (e.g., schools, work-site shelters, group homes). Ohio Revised Code, Section 5126.05

• Establishing Authority: Ohio Revised Code, Section 5126.02

• Composition: Seven (7) members: five (5) shall be appointed by the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC), and two (2) shall be appointed by the probate judge of the county. Each member shall be a resident of the county. The membership of the board shall, as nearly as possible, reflect the composition of the population of the service district as to race and gender.
  A = Asian
  AA = African American
  C = Caucasian
  H = Hispanic
  NA = Native American
  O = Other
  The Board scheduled 2006 meetings will be at 5:00PM on the second Tuesday of each month. No meetings are scheduled for July and August. All meetings will take place at the HCBMR/DD offices at 4370 Malsbary Road/Suite 200.

• Terms: Members may be appointed to three consecutive four year terms.
