The Hamilton County Court of Domestic Relations will have an orientation and roundtable for community parenting coordinators on Friday, November 18, 2016. The orientation will begin at 1:30 pm and the roundtable will begin at 2:30 pm. Per Local Rule 2.11 Parenting Coordination, community parenting coordinators must complete an orientation through the Court prior to accepting any appointments. New parenting coordinators coming to the orientation are encouraged to stay for the roundtable. Parenting coordinators already on the Court’s approved parenting coordinator list are encouraged to attend the roundtable and may also attend the orientation should they desire a review of court rules and expectations. Those planning to attend must RSVP to the Dispute Resolution Department at 513-946-9079 by Thursday, November 10, 2016.

Effective April 18, 2016, the Hamilton County Court of Domestic Relations has amended Local Rule 2.9 wherein parents will have two choices for the parenting class mandated in Ohio Revised Code §3109.053.


Parents may choose between an in-person class or online class. The in-person class—“Parenting Through Transitions”—is offered at the Court the first Friday and the third Monday of every month. The cost is $35.00 per person. The registration form is available here.


“Children In Between” and “Two Families Now,” two online classes, are available in English or Spanish. “Children In Between” is $39.95 per person and “Two Families Now” is $49.00 per person.

Effective January 15, 2016, The Court of Domestic Relations will no longer offer court forms on CD. Court forms are available in CDR's web site located within "Forms/Proceedure" (tool bar tab at top of page) then select "A Complete List of all Court Forms" located at bottom of web page.

Sept. 28, 2015

Effective August 3, 2015, the initial filing fee for a Divorce, Legal Separation, Annulment, or Dissolution with children will be $375.00 and for a Divorce, Legal Separation, Annulment, or Dissolution without children the initial filing fee will be $325.00.

The increases are a result of a legislative change which mandated the collection of an additional $26 for the benefit of Legal Aid and for an additional $25 assessment for inclusion in the court's Special Project fund.

FAMILIES IN CONFLICT (FIC) PROGRAM:

The Hamilton County Court of Common Pleas, Division of Domestic Relations, is pleased to announce the beginning of the Families in Conflict (FIC) program, which is designed for families involved in ongoing conflict. Beech Acres is sponsoring the program specifically for this court in April, July and October of this year. Sessions will be held on three consecutive Thursday nights. Fathers and their children (grades 1-9) attend the first class, mothers and their children attend the second class, and both parents with their children attend the third class. A follow-up mediation session for each of these families will take place 2-4 weeks after completion of the FIC program. There is a $50 fee for each parent to participate in the FIC program. There is no fee for the follow-up mediation.  

If you have a case that you believe would benefit from the FIC program, please speak with the assigned Judge or Magistrate on that case or contact Services Facilitator Katie Porter at 513-946-9072.

OHIO DEPARTMENT OF JOB AND FAMILY SERVICES HAVE MADE ADJUSTMENTS TO THE SCHEDULE OF CASH MEDICAL SUPPORT OBLIGATIONS EFFECTIVE JULY 2014.

These changes affect the child support calculations used by all courts and Child Enforcement Agencies to calculate the amount of cash medical support to be paid by an Obigor.

NOTICE OF LOCAL RULE AMENDMENT - TITLE I: L.R. 1.28 SPECIAL PROJECT FEE AND TITLE II: PARENTING ALLOCATION

The Hamilton County Court of Common Pleas, Division of Domestic Relations, hereby gives notice of the amendment to Local Rule Title II: PARENTING ALLOCATION to take effect June 1, 2014. Additionally, Local Rule 1.28 SPECIAL PROJECTS FEE has been amended to reflect the processing of the Early Neutral Evaluation fee as a Special Project Fee.

EARLY NEUTRAL EVALUTION (ENE) PILOT PROJECT:

The Hamilton County Court of Common Pleas, Division of Domestic Relations, is pleased to announce the beginning of the Early Neutral Evaluation (ENE) Pilot Project. ENE is a short-term, confidential process that requires both parents and their attorneys, if applicable, to attend a session at the Court led by a Magistrate and a court-employed Social Worker or Counselor.  After brief case presentations and information gathering, these experienced professionals share their evaluative impressions of the case and assist the parents in exploring possible solutions to the current dispute.  The process is not mediation, but is less formal than litigation.  Sessions generally last 2 3 hours.

If you have a case that you believe would benefit from the ENE process, please contact Services Facilitator Katie Porter at 513-946-9072 or cdrENE@cms.hamilton-co.org . During the pilot, all ENE services will be FREE.

Be advised that beginning September 3, 2013, an Affidavit for Citation (Form 13.1) and Summons (Form 13.2) will be required for all pre-decree child support, spousal support, and parenting time contempt motions in compliance with R.C. 2705.031(c).

NOTICE OF AMENDED LOCAL RULE - Local Rule 1.6 Court Filings

The Court of Domestic Relations has amended Local Rule 1.6 Court Filings to require that the notice of hearing include the duration and type, as well as the date, time and place of hearing.

This amendment is effective immediately.
