Judge Susan Tolbert
Susan Laker Tolbert has served as Judge of the Domestic Relations Division
of the Hamilton County Court of Common Pleas Court since 1999. From 1985
to 1999 Judge Tolbert was an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney with the Hamilton
County Prosecutor's Office and then the Clermont County Prosecutor's Office.
In Hamilton County, she served as an appellate prosecutor, representing
the State of Ohio in the First District Court of Appeals, Ohio Supreme
Court and United States Supreme Court on capital cases and other criminal
matters, and was in charge of prosecutions dealing with mentally ill offenders.
Judge
Tolbert received her Bachelor of Art's degree, cum laude, from the University
of Cincinnati in 1980 and her Juris Doctor from the University of Cincinnati
College of Law in 1984. She has previously served on the Board of the
Cincinnati Psychoanalytic Association. Judge Tolbert's community service
includes Hospice of Cincinnati and the American Red Cross. Judge Tolbert
is a life-long resident of Hamilton County, having grown up in Colerain
Township. She is married and is mother to three: two sons and one daughter.
