About Building Inspections

The Inspection Division of Hamilton County Planning and Development consists primarily of certified building inspectors who perform inspections verifying that the construction matches the plans approved by the Building Department. Inspectors are typically in the office and available for phone calls between 7:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m., Monday thru Friday. It is our goal to perform all inspection requests within 24 hours of scheduling.

Inspections should be called in to the Hamilton County Interactive Voice Response System ( IVR ) at (513) 946-3780. Please have your 8-digit permit number (04000001) and the address available . The IVR system will prompt you through the steps during each call. At the end of the call you will be issued a confirmation number. We recommend that you keep a record of your confirmation numbers and associated transactions in case they are needed for future reference. Inspections must be requested by code number.
