Permit Counter

 
The Customer Service Division of Hamilton County Planning and Development is responsible for the processing all permit applications, documents, drawings and specifications. Application received in the department are checked for completeness, a computer permit file is created, documents are scanned and routed to other agencies for their approval. Plans are received back to the Permit Specialists when approved by the Plan Examiners. The application is then checked to ensure that all outside agencies have submitted their approvals to allow the issuance of the permit. The fees are checked for accuracy and the applicant is notified of any balance due. Payment of outstanding balances and signing of any memos allows the permit to be issued and work to begin.
