Child Fatality Review Team

 
The Hamilton County Child Fatality Review team began operating in 1995 under the auspices of the Family and Children First Council. The Child Fatality Review Team reviews the deaths of all Hamilton County residents ages 17 and under who died during the year. The purpose of the Team is to prevent child deaths by examining deaths in the aggregate, noting trends and making policy recommendations to prevent future deaths.

The annual Child Fatality Review Report includes aggregate information about the causes of death, age, sex, race, neighborhood residences and other pertinent information about the Hamilton County children who died during any given calendar year. The Team recommendations resulting from those death reviews are included in the report. Since the Child Fatality Review Team has been in existence since 1995, many trends over the past decade are noted in every annual report.
