Surveys regarding attitudes about child abuse and neglect

The Hamilton County Family and Children First Council administers the Ohio Children Trust Fund for Hamilton County. As the OCTF administrator, the Council was delegated with developing and implementing a child abuse prevention plan for Hamilton County. The main thrust of the child abuse prevention plan that was designed by the FCF Prevention Committee is the Strengthening Families initiative in Westwood, which is described in the Strengthening Families link on this website. A lesser but also important part of the plan designed by the FCF Prevention Committee was to gain an understanding of the attitudes and knowledge of the general public about child abuse and neglect and to ascertain what they are willing to do to prevent it. Towards that end, FCF contracted with Olivetree Research to conduct a phone survey of the general public on this topic. Click here to view General Public Survey

The Prevention Committee also decided to conduct a survey of the professional community to ascertain their attitudes about child protection policies. The survey FCF conducted this past spring is very similar to a survey FCF conducted in 1995. The similarity of the two surveys allows us to gauge what attitudes and/or practices have changed in the past 14 years. Click here to view Professional Community Survey
