The realization of this project would increase safety in the area. The influx of residents and businesses would create a more active atmosphere as well as increased maintenance of the area. Thus, most criminal activity that may currently take place on or near the currently abandoned sites would be reduced.

Also, increased street and lot lighting would be employed to prevent unsafe circumstances at night. An emergency phone would also be added to the site to help prevent dangerous situations.
