2. Welcome and Introductions :: (Council Chambers)
  • Background & History of Amberley Village
    Mayor Merrie Stillpass

  • Overview of Day

    • Explanation of Charrette Process

    • Team Expectations (end products)

    • Identification of Focus Areas

8:30 - 9:15 am
     
3. Team Introductions :: (Move to Working Room) 9:15 - 9:30 am
     
4. Work Period 1 :: Explore City/Brainstorming/Idea Formation
  • Teams begins working

  • Expectations:

    • Review materials provided to Team

    • Walk and/or drive Team’s study area

    • Brainstorm - What is missing from your focus area? What potential does your focus area have to improve the village? (External View)

    • Brainstorm - Ideas/issues/recommendations in graphic and written form

9:30 - 11:00 am
     
5. Working Lunch :: (Provided)
  • Teams continue working/brainstorming
11:00 - 12:00 pm
     
6. Check-in Point 1 :: (Group event)
  • Each Team provides a quick summary of work and discussion from Work Period 1

  • Expectations:

    • Team identifies general framework of work program/approach

    • The purpose of this feedback point is for each team to benefit from observations/ideas from larger group

12:00 - 1:00 pm
     
7. Work Period 2 :: Begin Refining Ideas
  • Teams continue to work - using input from the initial research and Work Period 1, and informed by the work of the other teams - to begin refining ideas and possible recommendations

  • Expectations:

    • Framework of ideas and recommendations begin to take shape and are captured in graphic and written form

1:00 - 2:00 pm
     
8. Check-in Point 2 :: (With Charrette leaders only)
  • Each Team provides a quick summary of work and discussion from Work Period 2

  • Charrette leaders briefly meet with each Team (approximately 5 minutes per Team)

  • Expectations:

    • Groups share best/most important ideas, issues and recommendations

2:00 - 2:30 pm
     
9. Work Period 3 :: Final Stretch
  • Teams continue refining best/most important ideas and recommendations

  • Final ideas and recommendations are captured in graphic and written form

  • Each team will prepare to present its ideas and recommendations to the group, Amberley Village leaders and citizens at 4:00 pm.

  • Expectations:

    • Deliver digital presentation to charrette leaders on a flash drive.

    • Be finished and ready to present promptly at 4:00 pm

    • Select a group member to present group work

    • Each group’s presentation will address their initiative providing specific recommendations and steps to implement

2:30 - 4:00 pm
     
10. Final Presentation of Ideas and Recommendations :: (Council Chambers)
  • Each group presents ideas to the group, Amberley Village leaders and citizens

  • All presentations shall include:

    • A Strategy Concept (Issue Statement, Desired Results, and Recommendations,funding issues if possible)

    • Annotated maps or graphics that address major themes/ideas in your recommendations

    • Written text addressing ideas not included on the map
