Initiatives
1.) Amberley Green:
Amberley
Green is a 133 acre former golf club that was acquired by Amberley Village.
The site is currently open to residents for walking and running, primarily
using the old cart paths. Mt. Notre Dame HS refurbished the tennis courts
for the home team and can be used by residents in the off-hours. The Long
Range Planning Committee (LRPC) is currently working to determine the long
term use of the property and agreed that there are four major development
ideas with permanent park areas running throughout that encompass all the
ideas below. The four areas for development area: Agricultural,
Institutional Campus, Lifestyle Housing and Town Square.

2.) The North Site:
Formerly
the Amberley Village Swim Club, it is a 27 acre property near the Ronald
Reagan Cross-County HWY and Ridge Road crossing. The Village owned
property is considered to be a prime economic development opportunity for
the Village due to the central location and highway visibility. However,
access is a major issue not to mention the economic times. The Village
maintenance facility is located on a portion of this site and could be
relocated if necessary.

3.) Losantiville School
A
Cincinnati Public School property AV was built in 1954 and used until
recently. It served as a CPS swing space and is now considered a surplus
facility. The 10+ acre property abuts the corporation line of Golf Manor and
is adjacent to Amberley Village's disconnected business/industrial zone as well as the
observant Jewish community. A portion of the site has been considered for
relocation of the AV maintenance facility if needed.

4.) Connectivity:
Connectivity is a
concern for the active and religious residents. There are no walking or
bicycle paths in Amberley Village to link French Park, AG, JCC Village
Hall, religious places and the neighborhoods of the community. Safety for
pedestrians and bikers is a key concern, as is the design, funding and
implementation. This fits with concepts of Amberley Village as a
healthy community promoting healthy lifestyle activities in safe, park-like environments
with the ability to increase transportation
opportunities while trying to reduce short car trips, emissions
and congestion.
