An eligible employee is a permanent, full-time employee, or one who is regularly scheduled in active pay status at least 30 hours per week. Temporary, intermittent, part-time (less than 30 hours per week), and seasonal employees are not eligible for group health insurance coverage regardless of the number of hours worked.
Working Spouse Provision: There is a surcharge of $35 per pay period for spouses who have the option of medical coverage with another employer but elect to receive county medical insurance.
No Coverage Option - Employees may decline medical and/or dental coverage. However, if medical coverage is declined, proof of other medical coverage must be provided. And, if medical coverage is declined, employees still receive a vision discount through EyeMed Vision Care.
