What is $martCommuter?

$martCommuter is an employee transportation reimbursement account which allows Hamilton County employees to pay for certain eligible parking, mass transit, and van pooling expenses through a pre-tax payroll deduction.  

An Employee Transportation Reimbursement Account was established in January, 2001 by Hamilton County as a result of the Federal Transportation Equity Act of 1998 and Taxpayer Relief Act of 1997, which permit employers to offer their employees certain pre-tax transportation fringe benefits on an elective basis. This program is a benefit for all Hamilton County employees provided by the Board of County Commissioners and administered by Chard Snyder.
