| Minimum Qualifications: |
| High School Diploma or GED and possession of Ohio Peace Officer’s Training Certification, plus fifteen (15) years experience (ten [10] years in law enforcement and five [5] years criminal supervisory and/or investigation experience); or equivalent. Possession of valid driver’s license issued by the state of residency. WORKING CONDITIONS: POSSIBLE BUT LIMITED EXPOSURE TO PHYSICALLY THREATENING SITUATIONS. |

| Illustrative Duties: |
| 25% (1) Plans and directs the operation of the Investigator’s Office; carries a firearm in performance of duties; manages assigned personnel (e.g., assigns tasks; reviews work; evaluates performance; approves leave requests; interviews applicants; recommends hire/termination; administers discipline; provides training; etc.). 35% (2) Conducts intensive investigations (e.g., interviews witnesses and suspects; collects and analyzes information; collects and secures evidence; performs research and file searches; provides surveillance, uses cover identity, etc.); receives, screens and records information from informants, citizens, law enforcement personnel and others; communicates with the public and governmental or law enforcement agencies; makes criminal arrests; provides expert testimony.10% (3) Provides investigative assistance to law enforcement personnel.15% (4) Reviews requests for subpoenas for records by all agencies within Hamilton County; issues subpoenas on legitimate requests and maintains records tracking subpoenas; transports out-of-town witnesses to and from the Courtroom; assists with retrieval and storage of adjudged cases at the various Hamilton County storage facilities; analyzes and interprets data; provides office security; may assist with installation of alarm systems; assists with management of Property Room in absence of Property Room Clerk.10% (5) Maintains and operates personal computer, utilizing database oriented inquiry system to produce word processing documents and reports; develops, maintains and completes detailed records and reports (e.g., investigatory, arrest, extradition, attachments, etc.); compiles data and statistics; processes records, evidence and related information for use in case preparation; takes photographs.5% (6) Attends training sessions, workshops and/or conferences; qualifies in use of firearms in accordance with office policy. |
