Mission Statement
In support of the mission of Juvenile Court, the Human Resources
Department provides leadership in the development and administration of policies
and procedures that: 1) meet the needs of prospective and current employees of
Juvenile Court, 2) adhere to government regulations and professional and
ethical standards and 3) is committed to proactive efforts in quality
recruiting and the retention of professional and dedicated staff.
Human Resources provides
quality human resources services that are relevant, prompt, accurate, and
courteous in nature. In pursuit of the mission, above all else the Human
Resources team will:
· Treat people with dignity and respect.
· Be fair and consistent in actions.
· Work closely with all Departments to ensure the effective and efficient use of Human Resources.
· Contribute to employee development and creativity.
· Be accessible and make every effort to assist people.
The department provides a range of services to approximately 600 employees in three different divisions. The services currently provided include recruitment and referral of qualified classified employees; record maintenance, orientation and training, employee counseling/communications and background investigations.
In 2004, the Juvenile Court hired 108 employees. The total employees within three Juvenile Court Divisions equal 613, including part-time, and seasonal. There are 217 positions in the Judge’s Office, 196 at Hillcrest Training School, and 200 at the Youth Center.
