Work Detail General Information

To Parent/Guardian:

While your child is assigned to Work Detail, he or she will be doing various jobs. We work closely with parks, schools, and communities. We paint, mulch, do yard-work and general cleanup. Work Detail is year-round, so your child will be doing seasonal jobs.

It is your responsibility to see that your child comes dressed for work, including wearing appropriate clothing and shoes. Work Detail reserves the right to send home any child not appropriately dressed. Keep in mind your child may come home with mud and dirt on his clothes and shoes. You may want to provide your child with a pair of work gloves while at Work Detail.

If your child is absent on one of his assigned days; you need to call our office at (513) 946-7650 before 10:30a.m., on the day of the absence. The child must make up all absences. Any unexcused absences will result in the filing of a warrant for the youth's arrest.

If assigned to daily Work Detail, your child will be working Monday through Thursday between the hours of 8:00a.m. and 2:30p.m. and must bring a lunch! A pop machine is located in the Work Detail building and each drink costs $0.50. Friday work hours are 8:00a.m. through 1:00p.m., with no lunch necessary. If your child is assigned to Saturday Work Detail, you must read the instructions as the hours vary. No lunch is required for Saturday.

Your child will be graded on attitude and work performance, while assigned to Work Detail. He or she needs to pass both in order to get credit for the day. If your child fails either one, he may be sent home without credit and told to make up the lost day. Depending on the severity of the problem, he may be placed in the Youth Center and a new charge will be signed.

Please bring with you any verifying information regarding serious medical problems or allergies. If you have any questions, please feel to call the Work Detail office between the hours of 7:30a.m. and 3:45p.m., Monday through Friday at (513) 946-7650. After hours messages will be received on our voice mail system, 24 hours a day. 

Valuables, such as walkmans, cd players, cell phones, radios, pagers, pocket knives, cigarettes and lighters should NOT BE BROUGHT TO WORK DETAIL. These items and money totaling over $25.00 will be confiscated and returned only to a parent/guardian.
