Judge Beth A. Myers

. Myers was elected to the First District Court of Appeals in November of 2016. In 2018, she was selected to sit as a visiting judge with the Supreme Court of Ohio. Prior to her election to the Court of Appeals, Judge Myers served for over 13 years as a judge on the Hamilton County Court of Common Pleas. In addition to her duties as a general jurisdiction Common Pleas Judge, Judge Myers was appointed by the Supreme Court of Ohio to serve as a Commercial Docket Judge. In this role, she handled over 2000 business-related disputes. In 2013, she served as Presiding Judge and Administrative Judge for the Court of Common Pleas. 

Prior to taking the bench, Judge Myers was a partner at Frost Brown Todd where she practiced for 21 years in the Litigation Department. 

Judge Myers was President of the  Cincinnati  Bar Association  in 2005-2006 and she currently serves on the Professionalism Committee. She also served on the Executive Committee and the Nominating Committee, as well as the Board of Trustees.  She was co-chair of the 2008 Bench-Bar Conference.  She previously served on the Administration and Finance Committee, the Grievance Committee and the Ethics Committee, and was Treasurer of the CBA for 3 years.

She currently serves on the board of the Ohio Women's Bar Association.  She served on the Ohio State Bar Association's Civil Justice Task Force (2015-2017)
and the Ohio State Bar Association's statewide Pro Bono Committee Task Force (2007-2011).

Judge Myers has been active in the community and currently is a member of the Board of Visitors of the University of Cincinnati College of Law. She previously served on Miami University's Pre-law Advisory Board from its inception to 2012. Prior to taking the bench she served on the Board of Trustees of Deaconess Hospital, where she was also Chair of its Foundation, Cincinnati Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired, and the Greater Cincinnati Hospital Commission. She is a past President of the Alumni Association at the University of Cincinnati.

Judge Myers is a Co-Convenor of Beyond Civility: Communication for Effective Governance and Co-Convenor of the Cincinnati Bar Association's Bench Bar Media. Judge Myers was a member of Leadership Cincinnati, Class XXIII and was named one of the  Business Courier's 40 under 40.

Her awards include the 2017 University of Cincinnati College of Law Alumni Association Distinguished Alumni Award, the Hamilton County Trial Lawyers' 2005 Trial Judge of the Year, the Cincinnati Bar Association Community Service Award, the 2014  Distinguished Alumni Award from the University of Cincinnati Law Review, the 2005 University of Cincinnati College of Law Nicholas Longworth III Achievement Award, the 1995 University of Cincinnati Alumni Association Distinguished Service Award, and the Employer Excellence Award for Outstanding Recruiting Performance from the University of Cincinnati College of  Law.

Judge Myers is a member of the Cincinnati Bar Association, the Ohio State Bar Association, and the Ohio Courts of Appeals Judges Association.  She is an active participant in the Ohio Judicial Conference, where she serves on the Appellate Law and Procedure Committee and the Judicial Ethics & Professionalism Committee.  She has been an instructor for new judges and also serves as a mentor to new judges.

She is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Miami University and an Order of the Coif graduate of the University of Cincinnati College of Law, where she served as an Editor of the Law Review.

Judge Myers and her husband are both life-long Hamilton County residents and have two grown children.
